Flavour Flings

My colleagues and I, we're somewhat 'egg-crazy'. We love, love, love runny eggs.

And recently, we've been seeing one too many posts on poached eggs/all day breakfast/egg benedict/egg royale and anything to do with runny, gooey egg yolks. We want a chance to kill some yolks, too!

And we find out about Flavour Flings, a Muslim-owned cafe tucked in a quiet corner of Hougang (quite near our workplace!). And they specialise in all-day breakfasts. With eggs.

Ok, let's go…!

In case you didn't notice, those are egg trays. Lots of them. Wonder how many eggs they go through each day...

Eggs Jupiter ~ $17

Brioche, Momotaro tomatoes, Avocado, Melted Gruyère, 2 Poached eggs, Nacho cheese, Baked potatoes, Chicken sausages & garden salad.

That's a whole lot of ingredients on a plate!

Royale V.2.0

Butter croissant, Smoked salmon, 2 Poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, Baked potatoes & salad green.

Their previous 'version' used brioche. This new version uses delightfully buttery & crispy croissant.

Marie's Baked Eggs

Mushrooms, spinach, mozzarella cheese in garlic-tomato sauce and topped with 2 eggs in a casserole dish.  Soooo sinful but sooo shiok!

This place.... really know how to do their eggs right!

Desserts was the Ice-cream quadruplet. 4 flavours + almond flakes & berries. We chose the 3 fixed flavours (vanilla, 3x chocolate, honey & figs) and 1 flavour of the day (spicy apple crumble). So we thought the apple crumble will have some heat. Turns out
Ice-cream quadruplet

We thought of sharing a dessert to cleanse our palates off the eggs. Checked their desserts menu which has a pretty small selection.

Since we just had a hearty meal, we took the least filling of the lot.

4 flavours + almond flakes & berries. Chose the 3 fixed in-house flavours (vanilla, 3x chocolate, honey & figs) and 1 flavour of the day (spicy apple crumble).

We thought the apple crumble will have some heat (Spicy?). Turns out the term 'spicy' refers to the use of cinnamon and maybe some thing else? Cardammom? Cloves? I dunno. But it's nice!

I shall end this post with a video of my attempt as an egg-killer (please ignore that 'quivering' knife):
