weekend hangover

weekend hangover

I'm just soo tempted to excuse myself from work today and just stay idle at home. And yes, by 'idle' I mean to SLEEP. That adventure in the rain yesterday is already taking a toll on me.

Thing is, of all days, I have a deadline TODAY, a frigging MONDAY. After a whole week of inactivity in the office (besides surfing the net), my boss actually gave me a job at 5++PM that FRIDAY. Less that an hour away packing up and leave. And it's the very anal kind of job that requires more attention than the usual stuff.

Darn those fat-assed authority figures up there who had others abide by their way of doing things that had us work our ass off while making thing a hell lot convenient (if not easy) for them ~ do things OUR way or you can forget about having these approved.

And the job wasn't even done by us. Sheesh!

Besides, my collegue's on MC so I guess it's a pretty wise decision to come, after all.

.... Excuse me, time to get some 40 winks. Watched that Korean drama dvd till' 3am this morning. And that's in spite of the reaalllly tiring day yesterday. I must have forgotten I gotta' work this morning when I decide to finish watching 2 dvds.

. . . blame them!

full moon? eat crabs

full moon? eat crabs

Tak bedek! It's an old wives' tale that during full moon, the flesh of the crabs is in abundance and at its sweetest. My family swore by that.

Even teeny-tiny crabs have enough flesh to satisfy ANY craving, much more those found in seafood restaurants.

Talk about seafood restaurants. Went to Chai Chee Seafood Rest'n (359 Changi Road) yesterday.

Fans of "Ayam Masak Kicap" (chicken in soy sauce) should try this "Shanghai Chicken" dish. The soy sauce is pretty sweet, not unlike the Indonesian ABC brand but I think they used the chinese dark soy sauce.

The chicken is darn crispy, fried to the bone (nibbled on the bones w/o realising-it's THAT crispy!). Ask for it to be extra spicy and they'll fry more chilli padi with the onions.

Yeah, last night it's almost full-moon.

We ordered chilli crab. *yay!*

It's the first time in many, many years that we ate crabs when dining out. The last time was when my grandma gave a treat and she called the shots.

Cos' my family is a shy bunch. We don't wanna end up looking like those people who eat bone steak at Beach Road. Really!

I dunno what came over us but I believe we've always had this secret yearning to try eating crabs like other people. So when I innocently remarked, "The moon is almost full tonight."

My dad replied, "Crab?"

"Chilli or black pepper?" my mum continued.

And the rest is history.... *yay!*

Actually it's not exactly my FIRST time. It's my 1st time with the family, though.

murphy's law

murphy's law? you bet!

I was very, very close to banging my head on the dashboard. Voluntarily.
Bless my brother for his presence.

I may have been through it before but this time, it had felt like a train coming right at me with the headlights blinding my eyes. That was some shite right there.

First, I was so hooked on this Korean drama that I forgot the time. Then I got into the wrong lane and and my mum end up being late for work.

Fuel running low. Agreed to fetch my bro and have him accompany me to the petrol station. Asked him to top-up my ez-link. Then head to the nearby ESSO.

Here's where the fun starts.

Used my first card. Paying by NETS. Keyed in pin. Moments later, "Sorry m'am. Card declined. Please key in your pin again." Did just that.

Declined.

Oh well- 2nd card, different bank. NETS.

Declined.

3rd card, same bank as the 1st.

Declined.

3rd card, using Master.

Freakin' DECLINED!

Desperate, I tried waving at my bro who's in the car. No response. The cashier called OVER THE MIKE for someone to alert my brother. oh.my.goodness.

Oh, did I mention that the station was really busy? And there were like SIX other customers who made their payments when ALL my cards were declined? And I stood there like some fool, cursing.

Eventually made cash payment. Got my bro to add on to my shortage. Like I said, BLESS HIS PRESENCE.

Did I also say that my phone batt died out? Used my bro's phone to dial one of the banks to enquire bout the cards. MY bro's stoopid phone had faulty buttons and I tot' I got my bank account screwed-up too. Got thru' to the operator (finally!!). Was told that my funds were running low. *slaps forehead*

I had asked my bro to top-up the ez-link!!!! My pay has yet to be banked-in and I just transferred my remaining funds to my other bank (monthly routine).

Talk bout' the other bank. I decide to withdraw some cash using the card which was previously declined. Just to see if the card's screwed. Turns out, the card's not screwed. My memory is the one that's screwed. I forgot my freaking pin! And they bloody friggin RETAINED MY CARD! As in- SWALLOWED by the damn machine. Now I'm screwed. My moolah's all in that bank and my card's gone. And my VISA from that bank is the mini card. I can't use it on the ATM. aaargh!!!!!! I have to wake up early and queue at the friggin bank tomorrow!

Wait, there's more.

I went to the other bank's ATM to check my balance and withdraw some cash. DENIED. What the...? I swear I got sufficient balance! Tried the other card. Still DENIED.

Boy am I pissed. By now, I'm sure my cards were screwed-up. Went back to the car and informed my bro. "Did you try the other ATM?" *duh!* Was sooo muddled that I never thought of that. He took my card and head for the other ATM- grumbling, "Tangan kau niari kenapa, ah? Tak cebok betul, eh?" (What's wrong with your hands today? Never wash properly, isit?)
I seriously don't know that my hands have got anything to do with all that happened.

Turns out, both ATMs had insuffcient cash. Great.

Made way to another ATM further down. Finally got some cash. Phew!

It doesn't end there. Even my favourite channel bubbled on me. The schedule showed that my favourite anime will be shown on 1am but I guess they screwed up. They played another anime instead.

Uwwaaaahhhh!!!

Just discovered an interesting site: Parking Idiots

I've been sooooo yearning to take a pic of this old Merc parked by an incorrigible driver who thinks he's living in Malaysia. Now I have a reason snap that pic- seeing that it's possible to publish it somewhere worthy.

un-malaysian?

Congratulations siti, you are 29% not Malaysian.

That means you're as Malaysian as...

Michelle Yeoh!

How Un-Malaysian Are You?

Man, I'm actually MORE Malaysian that most Malaysians when I'm in fact, NOT Malaysian.

Michelle Yeoh? She's Malaysian??? Oh, DATUK Michelle Yeoh, you mean.

Kenny, would love to get that Crocs you offer. You can post it to my aunt's address in KL. Problem is, I got no "interesting encounter with a celebrity" cos everytime I see one, I RUN AWAY.

Shy, lah.

torn between two loves

torn between two loves

I'm talking about the viewers, here.

Quoted from The Star:
"...Although both TV stations denied the programmes were attempts to draw viewers from each other, the two love stories - one failed and the other in full bloom - were arguably the TV programmes of the year so far...."

Corny, you think? Look at this photo then.

That's what it's like at my auntie's place.

Rite, Sue?
Rite, Nor?

But I had it worse.

My televisions are in different rooms. And I watched BOTH programmes.

hero the movie

hero by zhang yimou

hey, anybody watched this movie on Ch. U just now?

Wah, I tell you- at the end of the movie, I end up being more muddled than at the start.

The breathtaking cinematography is definitely Christopher Doyle's signature style. And the storyline... *sigh* I guess that's the kinda' impact arty-farty movies tend to have on certain individuals.

The initial plot ended so early into the movie that I figured out that there's more to it than it meets the eye.

The storylines were actually set in layers. Each layer depicted by different colours. Interesting huh?

And Zhang Ziyi had a small but crucial role, nevertheless (you think she can get away playing a measly supporting role??). The first layer override the other but the others evntually overlap and form the rest of the story.

The last layer was represented by the colour white. White means death. White means a new beginning. Nice touch.

I chose to try and comprehend the story as the credits rolled and I sustain a headache now. All that "Why this, why that?" Aiyoh!

It's amazing I didn't choose to take up literature back in school. Could have aced it.

I would love to know what actually happen during Qin Shihuang's regime. I totally sucked in history so I guess I never really found out. Geez.

Nobody can carry a pan-face better than Jet Li, huh? What's his name in that story? 'Nameless'? More like, 'Expressionless'. I love Maggie's & Tony's acting, though. Superb.

You think Quentin Tarantino watched this?

Just another baseless entry. Bah.

kl-shah alam weekend pt 2

kl-shah alam weekend part 2

Ok, I think I've griped enough in my previous post. Geez!

Tell me, what's a rombongan trip without heading to Jalan Masjid India? No worries, I'm not going to gripe (again) here. In fact, I wanna say that I'm craaaazy about the Saturday Bazaar. I almost hyperventilate the first time I went there. And I soooo looked forward to heading there last weekend. Let's not call it the Saturday Bazaar. I shall called it the 'Street Food Haven'.

Just too bad that my belly still felt full then. Besides, we were given less that 2 hours to roam that place. Frankly, I dunno why I have to listen to the tour guide anyway. My cousin Sue & I ended up rushing from one end of Mjd. India to the other, running errands. Sue was in so much hurry until I put my feet down and insist we start from the beginning and walk till the tail-end of the SFH.

Why I call it the Street Food Haven is because of the numerous varieties of street food sold there; from fritters on skewers, mixed rice, kebabs, burgers, fried noodles, kuehs, my all-time favourite lok-lok and the ever popular laksa penang. Definitely not for the gastronomically-unadventurous. Heck, I even saw some stalls selling chocolate cakes! Which they glazed with awfully tempting, dripping chocolate fudge on.the.spot. And chocolate cakes taste best at room temperature, don't they?

There are many, many more but I just can't recall. Too bad I didn't take any pics. Too busy rushing back to the spot where the bus is fetching us. I am sooo going back there again. And take.my.own.sweet.time. On an empty stomach. And buy enough food to feed the masses. Hmph!

I practically have to drag Sue out of the bed that evening just so that we can head for Suria KLCC for the 'must-have' in KL. Getting around in their LRTs are easy. We almost blended in the crowd. Well, until we kept looking at their signboards, that is. Heh.

Anyway, my 'must-have' in KL.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Boy, I miss these stuff. Why dun SG have this anymore, huh?

And while we're there, might as well head to their Cold Storage and grab the offer of '10-for-RM6.99' sushi. Yeah, they do that after 8pm, I think. Though not THAT fresh, it's still edible what.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Had 6 sushis each, for supper. Topped with loads of wasabi.

Roamed awhile in the park. Despite the haze, there're still loads of ppl hanging out in the outdoors. Guess KL-ians fave past-time must have been melepak (hanging out). The former architecture student in me can't make me leave this place without a shot of this building. Old habits die hard, y'know?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day, we went to the Muzium Sultan Alam Shah @ Shah Alam (duh!) first thing in the morning, before heading back to Singapore. That's where the much talked-about displays of mystic artefacts and even mystical 'beings' are. I was so excited about the idea of that till' I willingly followed a rombongan.

But the excitement ends there. The whole display was an utter DISAPPOINTMENT. Really!

There's been a shadow of doubt hanging over this whole hoo-haa of having 'ghosts' on display. And I want to see for myself. True, I dun' doubt the authenticity of the little things on display, like the Jenglot and Toyol etc. But the highlight of the whole event, the Pochong was so lame. REALLY LAME.

For those curious ones- pics of the displays H.E.R.E .

Sue and I walked into the museum together and we followed the one-way arrows. We're the first few to enter the museum (came at around 9+ am). It's a nice feeling when there ain't many people and you're left to 'explore' on your own. And then I saw a group gathering in front and walking back (hey I tot' it's one-way?). We followed suit. Turns out, we missed the 'highlight' of this event, The Pochong. Those unknowing ones, A Pochong is a 'ghost' that is shrouded in white cloth (not unlike those that one is buried in). Its only method of movement is just by hopping around cos' the legs are bounded (duh!).

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Just a display.

I read reports saying that those 'lucky ones' will be able to see the Pochong hopping around within its glass enclosure (yes, you're protected). I dunno what the term 'lucky ones' mean. Are they saying that only those blessed with '3rd vision' can see? Or that the Pochong only apperears before a 'selected few'? This is interesting. Or so I thought.

Having followed an excited group, I ended up standing at the back, straining to see the Pochong through the glass panel. The guys were hoarding the front area and the other girls huddled at the back. The place was dark- as in, super-dim lighting OUTSIDE the area. And the museum attendants refused to shine any light brighter than the one from one of their teeny-tiny torch. My cousin later told me she heard one attendant asking the other, whether to "wake that thing up". Man, if I had been the one hearing that, I would personally ask them to, cos' I come all the way to Shah Alam for this, ok?

I struggled to see anything in that horribly bad lighting but I managed to make out 'the head' somewhat. Turns out that thing is lying down (should have looked down earlier). Someone said that the thing 'kept diasppearing and reappearing'. Bullcrap! That thing had remained there all the while.

When most of the others left, leaving only me and a few other guys. My cousin remained at the back. I went in front, squat down and strained to see. Still only the head. Not convinced, I turned to the attendant beside me and told him I can't see much. Must have pitied me cos he took his torch (slightly bigger that his friend's) and shone into the enclosure. Saw it. Just a body, shrouded in white cloth, lying there. That's it. Less that 3 secs later, he off his torch again.

I was like, "That's all?" Now that I know where it's lying, I tried to make out its form in the darkness. Hmm..... I think see much more during a funeral. When I sit in front of the body to recite some prayers.

Thank goodness the display of the other mystical artefacts managed to appease my curiousity somewhat. Having seen them on tv, it's satisfying to be able to see them for real, upclose (cos' I bend so close to the display boxes, heh). And thank goodness the entrance fee was ONLY RM5. Sheesh!

Cameras weren't allowed in there.

kl-shah alam weekend pt 1

kl-shah alam weekend part 1

Thought I could get away with just a night in Kuala Lumpur and not spending much. Guess I thought wrong. Just what did I spend my SG$100 (RM232++) on?? *scratches head*

Never once had I thought that I'll go to KL with a rombongan (tour group). Naturally, we youngsters have this stereotypical notion that rombongans consist of a league of makciks (aunties) coming out in full force to shop like their life depend on it.

I've had such an experience when I accompanied my close friend on a rombongan to Johor and I saw makciks bringing back goods like they've shopped in Kelantan FOR DAYS. Their endless chatter (boy, they sure can talk)..... Oh, if that's not bad enough, they had the driver play vcds of VIDEO CLIPS FROM HINDI MOVIES. You know what the song-and-dance routines are like. Numerous costume changes that will bring the lead stars from one place to the other (usually a different country) and back-up dancers appearing suddenly (out of nowhere, usually in similar garb) to join in the dance WITH synchronised choreography.

To think that I always fast forward/skip those scenes when I happen to watch the vcds and leave the room when they play it on tv; here I am made to watch JUST THAT throughout the journey??! That plus the tour guide who finds it his ultimate responsibilty to 'educate' us about Malaysia in general and other information I consider pointless. I can't even talk to my friend amidst all that din.

Needless to say, I've had enough of tour groups. And yet, I went with one to KL & Shah Alam last week (some 5 years after my bad experience). Pfft.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Bored. My 3rd Hour in the bus journey.

It started ok. Considering that the main intention was to head for the Shah Alam Museum displaying some mystical stuff, this trip somewhat interested many youngsters. So the number of makciks dwindled somewhat. The tour guide minimised his talk and when he did, he made some sense. So I guess that's ok. They made stops at 'interesting' places like a snack factory and a localised (but classy) chocolate boutique. Which is still..... ok. Tolerable. At least the snacks kick-ass.

But their choice of entertainment throughout the trip. Yeah, why am I not surprised, here? Nopes, no Hindi songs. They actually played these spiritual-themed Indonesian dramas called Hidayah. Yeah they're intriguing, almost entertaining. Despite having watched that on the Indon channels previously, I still got hooked. Then they played another. And another. REPEAT.

Heck! They actually had the whole season of that series! With each episode having a different storyline (yeah, like CSI). And you know that the theme song was played with EVERY time an episode starts and they must have played almost TEN episodes throughout the journey. And the volume was so loud that I had to blast the volume on my mp3 player to counter that. One time, I tried to sing along to this song I'm listening to on my player only to realise that I was singing along to THAT freaking theme-song instead. Darn.

shut up jt

why celebs have spokespersons

Quoted from Socialitelife:

"...I don'' expect my pop stars to be some kind of "word geniuses" and stuff, because I know full well that they were manufactured by Disney for the sole puporse of entertaining the populace with their singin' and dancin'. But it seems like they should have at least been programmed to avoid any kind of casual talking or divulging of "opinions" to major newspapers and/or magazines seeing as how they're not capable of doing so without sounding like total idiots. Justin Timberlake just proves my point .."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On dating Spears:
"I dated Britney half my life, but I don't know that person anymore. I'm not sure I knew her before. If I was writing an article about her, I would not be able to fight the urge to write every dirty thing about her."

On his '80s-inspired album, Future Sex/Love Sounds:
"I wanted it to look to a time when everything was really sexy. Maybe everybody was coked up, but who cares? It was hot. It was all about sex."

On smoking weed:
"I remember the first time it was reported that I smoked pot. I was like, Y'all don't? that's why I sort of respect Kate Moss. I think you lose once you start trying to analyze what people like. So I'm like, I hope you like how I live, but if you don't, you don't."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One (furious) comment with regards to the interview above:

"....I've always like Justin up until now. I think he is kinda coming off as a jerk. If he is over Britney, then why is taking stabs all the time about her now? Doesn't she get enough negative press all on her own? Not too long ago didn't he defend her and say that the press should just leave the girl alone, and now he himself is slamming her?

As far as drugs...it's one thing to come out and talk about your sexuality, but come on! There are millions of kids out there who dig him and he just annouces that he is a drug user like its no big deal. Using drugs is a big deal, and something that no one should be proud of. If he wishes to use them FINE, it's his life, but keep it quiet...he's kept it on the down low for this long..."

fireworks @ marina

fireworks @ marina (team france)

Finally get to view the fireworks. On the last day of the festival, even. One think I'm glad of is my dad's absence. I seriously can't imagine how short his fuse is going to be in that crowd. Pity my mum. She was all for the idea but I guess, someone's gotta' keep him company, right?

What more the queues at ALL the fast food restaurants were sooooo long (it's my first time experiencing this) that we ate junk food/snacks to help contain our hunger. Dinner (eventually) is Burger King at 2130hrs, consumed 10 mins/I-dunno-how-far away from where we bought the meal from, seeing that there are people EVERYWHERE from Marina Square to Esplanade.

We ended up having dinner on Esplanade. Bridge. In full view to those below but at least it's empty. Hey, we're really hungry, ok?

I try to recall, when is it that I experience the same scenario of seeing people almost everywhere till you can't see the ground (I'm NOT exeggerating, here)? But I believe it's my first time. I ended up sitting on the grass verge on the outer grounds of Marina Square (shopping centre). The grass patch where one won't even tread, much less walk on every other day and yet we got a whole bunch of people having a picnic there. And that's RIGHT beside the al-fresco dining area of the restaurants there, mind you.

Another thing that I'm glad about is that the instincts of both Su (my cousin) & I worked pretty well that day and we ended up choosing a pretty good spot. And I'm glad I brought the newspaper, that's for sure, seeing how moist the grass verge is. Talking about that, look at what the irresponsible, doofus people left behind after the fireworks extravanganza is over.

Pretty disgusting huh? In full glory of all the tourists and whoever the STB is trying so hard to impress. You think Singapore is very clean? That's because we have have people to do just that- cleaning, I mean. I tell you, unless Singaporeans learn to clean up after themselves, the S'pore govt. can kiss our clean-and-green-assimage goodbye. Really.

And about the fireworks, I heard that the one by the Singapore team on Tuesday was the best. I do admit that after seeing the one on National Day, this one by Team France seems pretty mediocre. Bah.

But I still love the finale.

*forget the volume. there's NO sound.*

Trivia: Do you know that amidst the "Wahhh...!" of all the spectators who were in awe, in the background you can still hear the frightened cries and screams of kids who were terrified of all the booming noises and sudden bright lights in the dark, dark sky. Poor kids. If they knew what apocalypse is....

PS: I got 2 other videos of the fireworks. Drop me a msg if you wanna see them.

a getaway.... hopefully

a getaway.... hopefully

Looking back, I realised that it's been ages since my family last went on a holiday TOGETHER, as in just the 4 of us (that's my parents, my bro and yours truly). I've always felt bad when I go on my own getaways with friends & cousins.

Let me try to recall ...hmmm... Oh dear me. Seriously... Almost 10 years? More? Gah! Often, I went with the brood which include my other relatives, from either my maternal or paternal side. And mostly my bro did not partake in these trips cos it's just 'so uncool'.

GUYS....

Ahhhh! I remember! Bangkok! My goodness. That's like.... 7 years ago! This is just sooo lame.

Now that everyone's working, coordinating our leaves have been hell. ESPECIALLY for my bro. As a matter of fact, his workplace will be closed for a fortnight due to extensive renovations. The shitty thing is, THAT place is closed right smack during the middle of Ramadhan, the fasting month. Geez!
And my dad always have block leaves on the weirdest times of the year and was always told on the 11th hour, leaving little time for my bro to book his leave.

The only time he can go on leave will be when it's NOT the school holidays which is good news, meaning we can avoid the peak season price hike and crowd. Thing is, we're running out of time. Ramadhan (fasting month) is coming, followed by the ever busy Syawal (Hari Raya/Eid). By the time that's done, it's the school holidays.

Darn.

Not considering the pre-Christmas trip back to the kampung in Selangor for a certain wedding. And I may be going with a battalion brood of maybe 20++ pax. I'll becoming back right when everyone comes back after the Christmas hols. Talk about peak season. I think I may dread THAT one. Geez.

I've been thinking, if we're to REALLY go on that getaway, where can it be? Somewhere near? Further? Road trip? Flight? Cruise? Hmm.... Think I need to list out. Feel free to comment on the place listed, should you have been there.

Kota-Rainforest
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Very near. In Kota Tinggi, Johor (Malaysia). Probably an hour or so drive from Singapore. Mountain resort. Interesting activities. Not sure if my bro will like it though. He needs water. Like the open sea. He don't really trust rivers. And he may liken the greens with his stint in the army. Pfft.

Desaru
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Another one nearby (in fact, nearby Kota Tinggi). Also around an hour's drive from Singapore. Discovered some chalets where I can just park the car right where I can see it. And we'll be near the beach. My bro will be happy. My parents will be happy. My family loves the beach. I wonder why. We've always spent time after dining out in the evening, just sitting by the beach and stare gaze at the sea.

That's it. I'm settling for beach resorts.

Penang
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
My mum keep wanting to go there. I'm pretty hesitant about this one. Last thing I need for a getaway is to end up in another town. More cars, more people, more buildings. Sure, Penang is a seaside town and exotic in a way that it's a melting pot that is thickly accentuated with many cultures and heritage. But..... Anyway I dun think my dad has the patience for towns like that. He'll get irritated easily.

Langkawi
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I like this one. And I fancy the idea of renting a car there and drive around on our own. I just hope we don't get lost and get into those amazing-race-type-family-squabbles. I was told navigating around Langkawi is pretty easy. My dad don't believe in that idea. He's a very cautious man, my dad. Moreover, that island has an interesting history. Culture. And shopping centres. My mum will like that. For my bro & me, the beach is good enough for us.

Batam
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Let's look away from Malaysia. It's good that Singapore is right smack between these two exotic countries (Malaysia & Indonesia). How about somewhere that's a mere 45mins ferry ride away? Batam may be known for its sleaze but their resorts are worth the try. Except that they charge in SG$. But I think it's pretty reasonable. They offer decent sea-sports too. And the SPA... Pretty cheap. Oooh..... Even my dad won't miss this one.

Bintan
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I think around an hour or so ferry ride from Singapore. The beaches I heard, are far nicer that that in Batam. But the rates of things here, much higher. I dunno how true that is. It's time my parents go there for their beach resorts instead of shopping. Hmph!

Ok, now I REALLY dunno where to go. Trust me for looking up sooo many places. Now I'm lost. Sheesh!

london airport safety

UK Airport Safety (UK terror plot thwarted)

(CNN) -- BAA, which owns and operates seven UK airports, including London Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, has released the following statement Thursday morning.

"Following this morning's police action, the Department for Transport have asked all UK airports to apply additional security measures designed to ensure passenger safety.

These measures will prevent passengers from carrying hand luggage into the cabin of an aircraft with the following exceptions (which must be placed in a plastic bag):

- Pocket size wallets and pocket size purses plus contents (for example money, credit cards, identity cards etc (not handbags);

- Travel documents essential for the journey (for example passports and travel tickets);

- Prescription medicines and medical items sufficient and essential for the flight (e.g. diabetic kit), except in liquid form unless verified as authentic;

- Spectacles and sunglasses, without cases; (just wear 'em)

- Contact lens holders, without bottles of solution; (seriously, dun bother wearing them lenses; imagine the dry air in flight and no solution???!)

- For those traveling with an infant: baby food, milk (the contents of each bottle must be tasted by the accompanying passenger); (hope he/she is not lactose intolerant)

- Sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight (nappies, wipes, creams and nappy disposal bags);

- Female sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight, if unboxed (e.g. tampons, pads, towels and wipes) tissues (unboxed) and/or handkerchiefs; (forget any embarassment; they're gonna go thru' your stuff anyway)

- Keys (but no electrical key fobs) (dun drive to the airport. if you do, remember: the car keys go into cargo)

- All passengers must be hand searched, and their footwear and all the items they are carrying must be X-ray screened. (stick to slippers... seriously)

- Pushchairs and walking aids must be X-ray screened, and only airport-provided wheelchairs may pass through the screening point.

In addition to the above, all passengers boarding flights to the USA and all the items they are carrying, including those acquired after the central screening point, must be subjected to secondary search at the boarding gate. Any liquids discovered must be removed from the passenger.

BAA wish to stress that these are precautionary measures. During the next few days airports will be extremely busy, therefore only those intending to fly should come to the airport. Passengers are also asked to use public transport to get to and from the airport wherever possible.

Passengers are asked to be patient while these additional security measures are put in place. Delays are likely and passengers are therefore asked to allow extra time for their journey."

Please note that I'm not making fun of the safety issues taken up by BAA as advised by The Scotland Yard. I'm just giving pointers. Besides, the temperature in the US has been soaring nowdays. Dress down- it gets you through faster.

you mean THEY do kids' shows???!

you mean THEY do kids' shows???!

This blogger from Down Under loves kids so I guess it's only appropriate that she worries about the kind of people who are actually part of shows meant for kids; like Sesame Street and erm.... Hi-5?

Read: Won't Somebody Think Of The Children?

"......I am appalled by how many children's performers have 'inappropriate' material on their resumes, particularly from the years before they nabbed kid-friendly jobs. Such people constantly run the risk of 'undermining their credibility' with their audience (ie. toddlers) and although Martinez has thankfully been removed, many others have got away with it."

Tell me if that issue isn't worrying or if she's just being anal..?

Still along the same line, I've been reading rave reviews about this movie, HARD CANDY. This movie supposedly carries some disturbing content, maybe some paedophilic theme and if I'm not wrong, it's even banned in Malaysia & China. I'm surprised it's rated M18 in Singapore while it's rated 'R' in the U.S.

Anybody out there who has watched this? Is it worth watching?

PS: FYI, 'Hard Candy' is an Internet term for 'under-aged' girls. Eurgh!

visually challenged

erm... who's visually challenged, here?

Been going through the blogs highlighted in tomorrow.sg and came upon many infuriated bloggers posting about their brush with pretty rude, if not inconsiderate people.

Rude Singaporeans
Grr..
Just a Nudge

Pretty appaling, I must say and you begin to wonder just what happened to the courtesy campaign? Has it been a failure? Maybe we should consider an ad similar to the one done by the Malaysian govt. with regards to courtesy on their LRTs? Where they have this ill-mannered man in the LRT who pretend to sleep and do other what-nots just so he dun have to give up his seat for THOSE WHO NEED IT. It's very much in-your-face kind of ad.

And yet, some people actually overlook the actual purpose of that ad and what it's meant to campaign. They chose instead, to question, "Why a man of a 'certain race' was potrayed as being ill-mannered?" Read this: The Television Ad Dispute.

***********************************************************************************
I recall one incident I encountered while in the bus on the way to work one morning.

FYI, public buses in Singapore have allocated some seats to be meant for the needy: pregnant ladies, the elderly, children or those carrying kids. They've even gone a step further by having these seats in a different colour (usually green) from the other seats on the bus. And put a sign to specifically say: "Please give up this seat to...." (you get the drift). And the reason why these seats are located where they are is because they are near to the doors, hence making it easily accessible for them to alight. It was made convenient for THEM beacause they have more difficulty moving and it's for YOUR own good too cos' they won't slow everyone down by taking a longer time to alight. Gettit?

Okay.... Anyway there was this one YOUNG (and possibly healthy) lady seated at one of those green seats right beside the exit door. I was standing diagonally from where she's seated and she definitely wasn't asleep. At the next stop, a visually impaired teenage girl board the bus. How I know she's visually-impaired? Simple. She was holding using a WHITE WALKING STICK. Very obvious, rite?

And she stopped right in front of that YOUNG lady seated beside the door and said, "Hello? Hello? Excuse me." That lady just looked up at this girl, wide-eyed as if surprised that anyone would have the cheek to ask her to get up from her seat. By now everyone was looking at them. The girl repeated, "Hello, hello..?" Isn't it obvious that she's asking whoever seated there to give up the seat for her cos' she DEFINITELY NEEDS IT?

And then there was this loud knock on the window panel beside the seated girl. A middle-aged man was knocking on the window, signalling to the seated lady to let the girl sit. He was mouthing, "Get up!" Thay guy's definitely her the father, who had been watching from outside and must have been pissed to see that his daughter was being denied the seat that she NEEDS (note: I said need, not want).

It took a while for it to register in the young lady's head that the teenage girl standing in front of her, holding the white walking stick must be visually-challenged and needed that seat just so she can alight easily. I'm sure by then, she would have noticed the stares she received from the other passengers. She hurriedly moved to the back. Bless the bus driver captain for not driving off until that girl was finally seated. Right then, I'll be most glad should a very kaypoh auntie come over to that young lady and reprimand her for making that girl wait so long for the very seat she deserved.

Seriously.

kyo kara maoh

kyo kara maoh

Anybody have any idea where I can get THIS bishonen anime DVD in Singapore? I am recent anime convert eversince I turned to Animax (StarHub ch. 84) in the wee hours of morning for my dosage of fantasy action before I sleep.

I love this show but I just found out that their DVD runs up to VOLUME 6 so I'm half-hoping that I get tired of watching this before I bust my income on fantasy-anime schtuffs.

This one here is definitely not for homophopics. But the action and comedy is worth it if you can just overlook the (subtle) boy-love thingy. Heh.

sum it up

sum it up

Just now, my office server went kaput. Takde angin, takde ribut (not 'reboot').

Still got 2hrs till the end of the day. My collegue gotta leave early and my boss can't do anything. Told me to use the back-up data from his computer. Less than 10mins later, he switched off his pc and went back home. How to work like that? He's a funny man, my boss. Very funny.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Almost wanted to kick myself when I let missed an almost empty bus. To appease the heart, I told myself that "Things Happen For A Reason". True enough. The 'reason' happened less than 5 mins later.

Those who know me well, will know what is it that makes me happy... Go figure. Heh.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, many many thanks to that lovely newlywed couple, Tini & Odi (or Mr & Mrs Odi) for playing host and let me dwell in their abode for an overnight stay.

Dah lama kita plan, kan Tini kan? Dari time you belom kawin, lagie. Betol tak?

I woke up after a mere 4hrs of sleep when the warm sun rays beat down my face, only to realise that it's the first time I was in Punggol during the day. The other times I've been there had been at night, wasn't it? Macam jakun, gitu.

Then, I felt like your little sister as I tagged along when you did your marketing & grocery shopping, in anticipation of the special dish you promised to cook for me during lunch.

Later on, while you were busy cooking ...

... I was busy browsing thru' your wedding album.

Geez, I'm such a lazy bad guest. Pfft.

And during lunch, we feast on your 'Ikan 3 Rasa'-with it's dripping red sauce, while watching a horror movie. I know I've said it then, but I'll say it again. The ikan is sedaaappppp!!!

After lunch, you prepared a jug of kopi 'O' for your hubby & in-laws and we troop down to the nearby Punggol jetty, where they had been fishing, to check on them esp. after that heavy rain.

Tell your mum-in-law, her Kueh Kasu'i & rendang is superb, albeit a tad spicy but delicious, nonetheless. Can't believe she prepared all that just for the fishing trip. I guess it's you fellas who are lucky, eh?

I remember a line in your sms, sent on the evening after I went home, "...jangan serik tau. Datang lagie, eh..?" No worries, mate. Maybe next time, I'LL cook. We'll see.

And to a certain Ms. Diana, who was so eager to join us but was unable to; there shall come a day when our plans will go thru, cos' we've always enjoyed one anothers' company. There's no way we can leave you out, rite?

IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES

Please don't take things or even anyone for granted.

Got this poem in an email regarding the recent demise of a certain someone.

And no, this is NOT that Ronan Keating song.

**************************************************************

IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES

If I knew it would be the last time
that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute or two
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming, you would know I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything right.

There will always be another day
to say our "I love you's",
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do's?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget,

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance you get
to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear,

Take time to say "I'm sorry","please forgive me,"
"thank you" or "it's okay".
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

Leo saves duo

forget that he's a celebrity, i wonder if anybody would have done this in S'pore?

July 24, 2006 -- LEONARDO DiCaprio, who plays the hero in movies, was a real hero to two wheelchair-bound Madonna fans the other night. Francesco Clark, 28, - who worked at Harper's Bazaar until a car accident left him a quadriplegic and now runs the Clark's BoTanicles skin-care company - had front-row seats to one of Madge's shows at the Garden last week thanks to his pal, Harper's Bazaar creative director Stephen Gan.

But when Madonna came onstage, the crowd rushed forward and Clark's wheelchair was nearly knocked over. "He couldn't see anything because people were all standing around him," said Clark's pal, WWD writer Elisa Lipsky-Karasz. "He tried to move to the front, but no one would budge, and nobody cared. Then the security guard came over and was being rude and told him to move." At that point, DiCaprio came over and said, "Why don't you come sit with me and I'll just move over?" The star was at the end of the catwalk in front of a no-standing zone.

Moments later, DiCaprio moved another wheelchair-bound person in next to Clark, saving her view as well.

sleepover

sleepover (long, long ago)

This is wat happens when one procrastinate. Goodness, this sleepover happened like over 2 weekends ago, man. Sorrylah Tini. I meant to document this but... as always, someone here never learns her lesson about the downside of procrastination.

That Friday evening started on a... pretty funny note, hasn't it? You forgot to tell me that you decide to go back to your Punggol home and I ended up waiting for almost 15mins at the carpark of your mum's home instead. We were both looking for each other until we realised that we're not in the same location.

Then I missed the entrance to the highway that will bring us to town and we ended up going around in loops, all in the WRONG places and spend like more than 1/2 hr being lost. I can never forget our relief when we finally reached our destination, wayyy past midnight.

We were only 15mins away from the next Pirates of the Carribean show which was 'selling fast' and by a stroke of luck, they sold us the reserved seats which were simply superb (high-level, centralised). But that show's duration is too long to be watched in the wee hours of Saturday morning. After a hard day's work on Friday, a 2 1/2hrs movie dun really do our tired selves a lot of justice. So we decide to skip supper and head for your home.

I decide to be a safe driver and drive at moderate speed (despite the almost empty roads). I was on the 2nd lane from the right and reaching Serangoon Road (where there're quite a no. of pubs), I saw a group of 6 standing on the right-most lane (yep, ON the road) and it wasn't long before I realized that ALL of them are drunk. And right when I'm about to pass them, one guy from the group actually STRAYED into my path. I slammed the brakes and blast the horn but that guy was soooo intoxicated that he just stood there. GOODNESS! My instinct told me to look back and thru' the rear-view mirror, I saw the car behind me braking really hard. I guess he was kinda' speeding before that. I was already mumbling, "Please, please don't bang into me..." LUCKILY he braked in time but I'm darn sure he's just mere inches from the boot of my car.

I dunno what made that drunkard look back and seeing me RIGHT BEHIND him, he got the cheek to wave a sorta' apology and God knows what he's mumbling. &%$#@!! As he staggered back to his group, I saw that ALL of them had half-closed eyes and everyone was propping the other by the shoulders. I candidly told Tini, "That's a VERY good reason why we're told NOT to drink. You might be soo drunk, you wouldn't even know you've died!"

That's not the end. At the next red-light, a black car stopped beside me and from the corner of my eyes, I knew that I was being stared at. Even Tini cautiously warned me not to turn to the right. I just told her, "Oh, that's the car behind me just now. I think he's pissed cos' he almost crashed into me. But I don't give a damn cos' if I didn't stop, I would have crashed into that drunk instead. Would he wanna bear responsibility for that? So he better buzz off." True enough, he drove away.

Throughout the journey back to Punggol, I was so relieved that nothing bad happened despite us being -->THIS<-- close to danger. This is a way to show that no matter how cautious you try to be, it takes another party's reckless act to wreck it all for you.

Funny, I had meant for this entry to document the good times I had when sleeping over at the newly-married Tini's new abode. But I guess something dark, even sinister has to come before the light. Till' next time, I guess.

considering...?

to be considered...?

Thanks ah, buddy. Been a long time since I exercised my thoughts.

I admit that I've been complacent. I've been taking things for granted. I relish staying in my comfort zone. Never have I bothered to look at (or even think of- for that matter), of other possibilities. The "WHAT IF'S" have never really crossed my mind.

My career has been a smooth sailing river ride. My intention was just to sail straight down and hopefully reach the sea in one piece. Till' you put a fork in my path. And yes, that detour is a job opportunity. And an irresistable one at that.

Your boss had promised a starting pay which is much higher than what is printed on my paycheque currently (and I've worked 4 years!) and recently, you told me that your boss is offering a 'rate' higher than the market price (the clock's ticking, I guess..). You told me of a possible opportunity to go overseas to help overlook that confirmed job your company has. You are even planning a meeting between me and your boss for us to 'discuss things'. So zealous were you in getting me to join your camp that it took me a while before I can put up the stop sign.

The opportunities seem good enough for me, that's why I'm considering. And the fact is- I'm CONSIDERING and not immediately typing my resignation letter as well as a resume. Cos' I LOVE my current job. This job is a dream come true. It lies along the same line as what I've learnt in school. My office is a mere 15 mins bus ride away and I have 4 different buses to take, DIRECTLY from home. My office is homely and my bosses are great, if not superb. They bought insurance for my collegue and myself and send us on diving trips. And many other things. Believe me, there's A LOT that I would have left behind should I join your camp. A lot. And I acknowledge the fact that it'll be hard for my boss to find my replacement. I admit there's a lot that's lacking in terms of job scope and challenges are pretty uncommon but I'm contented.

Believe me, Bas. I would really like the idea of joining your company. Our daily exchanges on MSN about our jobs, the projects we're currently handling, the emails you send me of your designs- asking for my opinions and of the job satisfaction you have. It's all tempting, believe me. I could have learnt a lot more over there. Things would have been my easier if my current job is a pile of crap and my workplace is a s***hole and my boss is the unsculpurous monster that I hated. But all's randy-dandy, I'm afraid.

I'll help you in your search. An Architectural Technologist, rite? Diploma holder? In that line? Possibly your assistant? Ok... And you're a designer in an architectural firm. Location in the city (central) zone.

So.... anyone interested???

car parking menace

car parking menace

I ask you huh, just how many times have you discovered, as you come to your car in the car park; that the car beside you had parked wayyyyyy too close. Especially from the left side (where THEIR driver seat is).

EVEN in my own housing estate (not just the shopping centres, ok?). When I parked my car, everyone's well-spaced out. The next time I wanna drive out, some idiot would have took over the lot next to mine, and that idiot ought to be kicked back into driving school, I tell you. Haphazard parking - SLANTED or worse, TOO CLOSE to one car and too far from the other...

I've had MANY encounters when the idiots parked sooo senget that some of my car doors can't be opened due to the space constraint. If the passenger car door can't be opened, I dun mind. I can drive out and let my passengers get in later. But if the door that can't be opened is the DRIVER'S DOOR, you tell me..??! A couple of times, I had to get to the driver's seat FROM THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. Urrgh!

And then, the even bigger issue. After parking too close, they opened their door like nobody's business and BANGED into your car and caused DENTS in the process. ON YOUR CAR. BLARDEE HELL, I tell you! I stick on custom rubber-pads on my cars doors just so I won't dent someone's car should I accidentally banged my door when opening & I even make an effort to open my car door slowly should the next car be a tad close. Why can't some IDIOTS be as considerate???

I only 'inspect' my car once a while and one time I notice this OBVIOUS-LOOKING DENT and it even have bits of red paint on it. The car next to me (wasn't there when I parked) was a tad close and the colour of the car? Yes, RED! I did not want to blindly accuse the other car to be the culprit but the tinge of red is pretty similar. The dark, blood-red type. Not the common, bright chilli-red. And yesterday, the car beside mine was replaced with a pick-up truck whick parked OUT OF ITS LOT AND INTO MINE. And I checked the part where, it's driver's door might come in contact with my car. True enough, there's an ominous scratch. Aaargh!!
I check the other side of the truck. It was wayyyyyy far from the other lot, ok?
Double aargh!!

I don't care. I'm gonna get the side strip to protect my car surface from these blatant idiots. Yeah, it's my own expense but I dun care. But thing is, it may prevent the OTHER CAR doors from banging directly into mine but I ain't too sure bout those pick-up trucks, though! Grrr...

Expo jam

expo jam

Is there anyone out there who made their way down to the Singapore Expo today? Around 2-3pm to be exact. ANYONE???? I'm sure there's A LOT who do.

My mum had wanted to check the Pesta Perkahwinan and there was a MASSIVE TRAFFIC JAM right there. In fact the jam starts right at the junction near the entrance of ITE College East. At that point, we have not EVEN passed S'pore Expo yet. My dad soon got tired of nagging & complaining and fell asleep (esp. after I tuned to Gold 90.5fm to ease the tension). More then 1/2hr later, I moved BARELY 300metres. Heck, I have yet to EVEN reach the overhead bridge, where the bus-stops are. MORE THAN 1/2HR LATER!!

My dad woke up and he was horrified to see that we're still there and shrieked (yes, my dad does that sometimes), "Why are we still here?! Forget about going there. Move out! Signal left and move out!!"

Until now, we're still in the dark. JUST WHAT WAS BEING HELD IN SINGAPORE EXPO TODAY??? I noticed that the carparks were VERY full and my guess that's what is causing the jam. I thought it was only the Pesta Perkahwinan that was being held over this weekend but I guessed wrong. Even when I drove past the OTHER side, they have a traffic jam similar to what I just drove away from. SO WHAT WAS IT??? Anyone with the answer? ANYONE?????

belakang padang

belakang padang

Okayyy.. This trip was last week actually, so I'm not going to pretend like it just happened. Last Saturday, to be exact.

However, for the WHOLE of last week, I was unable to find my camera's transfer cable so I was unable to upload my pics. When I dun have my pics, I dun bother to blog. See? That's a good enough explanation, isn't it?

Instead of the 'battalion' that I usually go with, this time it's just my parents & me. We didn't even tell my relatives over there.

Despite my parents informing me about this trip only in the last minute, I joined them anyway. A quick weekend getaway (read: getting outta' S'pore) won't harm, rite?

I know that the purpose of this trip was to visit a sick relative but the thing is, I have LOTS of relatives over there. It'll not be nice if we didn't drop by their place. And words DO spread fast on that small island. Somehow or rather, they'll know of our arrival.

Those living on the hill were indeed caught by surprise with our arrival. However, those on the ...erm... flatland. Well, they caught wind of our arrival (despite their closed doors when we rode by on the trishaw).

One after another, we were stuffed with food. Thank goodness they're all good cooks. The sea breeze blowing in, lulling me with the overly-stuffed belly to a tempting afternoon nap. I half-joked to my mum about spending the night there. Just too bad my dad insisted on going back that very day.

The rugged countryside never failed to intrigue me. Especially my first experience at using the 'outhouse' (left). That- shall be another story altogether.

creative

let's get

A friend of hers had told her that Creative is having a sale
so we checked their local website. True enough. Most of their products are going at 50% off (do you know that? HURRY! cheap, u noe!).

She told Sri (my collegue) & I, to give the model name of the product that we're interested in. She'll then relay it to her friend. I wonder if her friend is able to give us further discounts on top of the available bargain. Hmm.. It's was Friday then and by the time we left the office, she no longer made a mention about our order so we assumed that she's forgotten about it. There's always the next week. Bah!

The weekend come and goes and today, I CAME LATE only to find that THEY CAME EARLY! Ouwh!!! Thank goodness it's Monday.... And THANK GOODNESS there's no match yesterday. I don't want them to quickly assume that my tardiness was due to World Cup (actually I was frantically searching for my purse which got lost in a pile of laundry). Anyway, in my sheepiness, I was still able to hold a decent conversation with her about... what else..? WORLD CUP.

Then she was like, "Oh ya! I almost forgot. Here's your advance birthday presents." And passed each of us an orange paperbag with the CREATIVE logo. Huh?? I looked in and saw the product we ordered the week before. With my mouth agape, I was like, "Wow! Thanks!" Eh, wait.... Goodness! She bought us the UPGRADED model! You should see her grinning. I guess that's why she likes to spring surprises like that. Yes, it's not the first time she's done this and I hope it's not the last. Right, Sri??? *winks*

Now, just how do I get about thanking my boss's wife..?? Made me VERY paiseh, ok? I come late and still got present. What more, at the end of the day, I forgot that I came late in the morning and sought to leave the office early. Aiyoh!!!

superman!

Brandon freaking-hunky-dory Routh

All throughout their promotional period, I (and I believe, MOST women) have been treated with a feast for the eyes in the form of Mr Brandon-oh-so-gorgeous-Routh. I've heard that his name rhymes with 'South' so why do I still hear his name being mentioned as 'Ruth'? Geez.

Anyway, back to him being almost EVERYWHERE. It comes to a point that it's unbearable. Never one to watch a movie on the weeekend that it opens but this shall be an exception. I REALLY wanna watch him in that ridiculous costume of his (yar, yar.. one can't really get over that RED briefs being worn OUTSIDE), getting all heroic and making ladies all over to swoon and pine for him. Not really one to jump on the bandwagon but I WANT TO SEE HIM!!!!

So I got my like-minded cousins to join me with 3 of my cousin's kids in tow. Booked a day in advance and already, almost 1/2 the cinema has been booked! What more, my 1st choice team to hoist the World Cup-Argentina lost early this morning and I was even more eager to see that eye-candy. Treat my heartache, come on!

Definitely a sight for sore eyes. I guess I amused my cousins to bits when I sighed with everytime he came onscreen (as Superman). That little curl hanging on his forehead... Can I PULL? Pleaseeee...??? I LOVE it when he float elevate himself vertically.

I know that is SO like, Magneto of the X-Men fame. But it's another thing to see a young stud doing the same thing, ok? Besides, Magneto is not even comparable. He's.... shrivelled wrinkled OLD.

Ouwh, that sculpted body! Yar, I know that the costume is padded. But I also heard that he enthusiastically worked out before the filming and end up straining the (now maroon-not-red & blue) costume at the seams, what with his buffed bod and the paddings combined. And that overrated tale about his 'package'?? Forget it. If they (the producers) really did fork out millions to reduce the size onscreen, I guess it works.

I thought I can use the hour-long bus journey back home to unbashedly imagine myself to be the one Superman pines after. To be the same one who gingerly stepped on his (Redwing look-alike) boots and hang out (literally) with him beyond the stratosphere. Sigh.... Wouldn't THAT be nice..?

All THAT dreamy thoughts came to a halt when I end up taking a crowded bus. So packed that I stood beside the bus driver captain for a few stops. And stood mostly. By the time I sat down, I was too sleepy due to the deprivation cause by continuous watching of live soccer matches. Darn!

Anyway, eat your hearts out, ladies. Mr Routh here is happily attached to his long-time girlfriend, whom he met back when he's very much unknown.

Courtney Ford is one LUCKY woman.

suzi bdae

Dearest Suzi,

First and foremeost, Thousand Apologies from me for forgetting your birthday. It totally slipped my mind. Really!

Like how I've explained thru' my sms to you yesterday, I've mistaken your birthday with that of Prince William. Yes, that monarch. The 2nd in line to the British throne. Yar, yar. I know. It's not like I'm celebrating his birthday anyway... I dunno why I keep muddling yours & his birthday together.

And so I 'confidently' told you that I recalled your birthday only yesterday, which I thought to be Wills birthday. Even THAT was wrong! I googled on his b'dae and found out it falls on the 21st! It's still a mystery, why I happened to remember your birthday only yesterday-the 26th. Geez!

Oh wait, I think I know. It's gotta be the WORLD CUP! A major distraction, I tell you! Tsk!

Anyway, my dear cousin. Here's wishing you to be blessed with good health, success and happiness. Life will definitely be different without you. You and your big, bright smile.

Here's my virtual birthday present to you. I have used some pretty frames for your pics. Nice or not?

Last but not least:

HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAYYYY!!!!!!!!!! <---ur fave colours, no?

best refree

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
morning quote:

Wah! Best refree??
Not bad....
**Singapore refree ranked No. 1**
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Somebody spank those Dutch kids for me. How selfish can they be? Sure, they're good but darn too eager to make a name for themselves. Sheesh!
